SEAROWS OLDER

Searows has dropped his new single, ‘Older’. Pushing towards seven minutes in length, it feels like a gentle, tender epic of a piece. Slow, lilting guitars guide us in with distant strings underpinning the texture from a distance. His voice is serene and melodic, with the influence of Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver working their way in. On the unique writing process behind the track, Searows says: “I didn’t know what ‘Older’ was about until I finished it, but in the end I think it's about getting older and feeling too young and too old at the same time, and trying not to feel powerless in both those feelings.  We feel powerless when we’re young, and also powerless when we start getting older and watching other people get older around us.” ‘Older’ is the first track to be released by Last Recordings On Earth, a new independent label fronted by Matt Maltese in association with Communion Records. -Dan Peeke
